Cabinetry Assistant

Position Type: Full-Time (Mon–Fri)

Pay Range: $20.00 – $25.00 / hour (DOE)

About the Role
We are a fast-paced, high-end custom cabinet and architectural millwork shop seeking a reliable, motivated Cabinetry Assistant to join our team. You will work directly alongside our lead craftsman and contractor to support daily shop operations, material preparation, cabinet assembly, and project staging.

This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to break into modern custom woodworking, work with advanced machinery (CNC routers, edge banders), and learn production efficiency from the ground up.

Key Responsibilities

• Material Handling: Safely receive, unload, and stage sheet goods (melamine, plywood), hardwood, hardware, and shop supplies.

• Machine & Prep Support: Offload parts from the CNC router, prep materials for processing, run parts through the edgebander, and assist with detail sanding.

• Assembly & Staging: Help assemble cabinet boxes, drawer boxes, and custom components; organize hardware and label completed assemblies for delivery.

• Logistics & Loading: Assist with staging finished jobs and loading/unloading delivery trucks for job site installs (including carry-ups).

• Shop Maintenance: Maintain a clean, safe, and organized shop floor, sweep working areas, manage scrap materials, and maintain tooling.

Qualifications & Skills

• Physical Stamina: Ability to lift 50–75 lbs regularly and stand/move throughout an 8-hour shift.

• Tool Experience: Comfortable around basic hand tools, cordless drivers, and shop machinery (construction, cabinet, or trades background is a plus).

• Detail-Oriented: Takes pride in clean work, double-checks part tags, and respects high-grade finish surfaces.

• Reliability: Punctual, dependable, safety-minded, and possesses valid transportation.

• Attitude: Strong work ethic, eager to learn new trade skills, and thrives in a small-team shop environment.
