What started as a simple woodworking project for his growing family soon became the foundation of something much bigger. When Jacob Elder set out to build a beautiful dresser and changing table for his newborn, he had no idea that his craftsmanship would capture the interest of friends and family. But with each piece he created, his passion for woodworking grew—until he realized he could turn his lifelong love for cabinetry into a thriving business.

Jacob has always been a hardworking entrepreneur. Straight out of high school, he launched his first business alongside his father, owning and operating a successful RV rental company for years. After selling the company and transitioning to a corporate job, his passion for woodworking never faded. He dreamed of the day when he could build a business centered around his craft, one that would provide for his family while allowing him to do what he loved. That dream became reality shortly after his second son was born, when Jacob took the leap and founded 805 Custom Cabinets.

But this journey wasn’t built on passion alone—it was shaped by years of hands-on experience and dedication to mastering his craft. Jacob spent years studying AutoCAD, refining his technical skills to bring precision to his designs. He worked as a handyman, gaining invaluable experience in woodworking and home improvement. For four years, he honed his expertise as a journeyman, learning under highly skilled general contractors who had decades of experience in the industry. Each challenge, each project, and each lesson prepared him for the next step: applying and testing to become a licensed contractor.

With his certification in hand, Jacob officially founded 805 Custom Cabinets—a business built on hard work, expertise, and an unshakable commitment to quality. Today, 805 Custom Cabinets offers top-notch, full-service cabinetry solutions for homes and businesses. From custom furniture to complete kitchen renovations, Jacob brings expert craftsmanship, dedication, and a love for family to every project.
